Pirate Crew

2023 June - Current

Pirate Crew is an agency of skilled technicians that work on all aspects of the creation and removal of live events and theatre sets. I work as a technician to install new sets in theatres across the UK by reading CAD plans provided by the theatre directors to construct the sets from mainly prefabricated flats, flooring and props. I can use a variety of tools and carpentry skills to construct each design whilst working alongside a variety of technical groups. I dismantle sets and events when the production is over in order for the new design to be installed.

The Conran Shop

2022 August - November 2023

The Conran Shop is an institution in the design community and is known world wide. It sells a mixture of high end items for the home ranging from contemporary furniture, home-wear and lifestyle items. Headquartered in London, I worked between 3 shops in Marylebone, Chelsea and in Selfridges where I worked initially as a visual merchandiser displaying products. Two months into this role, I took on a new position in the team as the visual merchandising technician, where I was responsible for altering the stores for new displays, fitting new furniture and lighting. This role developed my knowledge of fabrication and installation of large scale projects where I became adept in problem solving and utilising the available tools and materials.

Feather Pendants

2021 Feb - 2021 July

Feather Pendants was an independent Jewellery shop located in the famous Hatton Garden area. They needed some display stands for a new space age collection called "Interstellar" that was to be displayed in pop up stalls. I created a modular design that could be easily configured in different spaces and changed to display different groups of products. The bases were rounded on all edges and painted metallic to compliment the jewellery and not to distract from it. At the Oxford Street pop up store, I set up the displays with the collection to make the most attractive displays possible for the product.

Stronghold Productions

2021 Nov - May 2022

Stronghold is a film production company that manages all stages of the production including screen writing, prop making, filming and post production. I worked on the sequel called Kinglsayer about Richard 1, where I created leather items focusing on bags for various film characters. Throughout the process, I met with my prop making colleagues to ensure we all had a consistent design style between the different types of props.
