Stronghold
Stronghold is a production company that takes ideas from inception to post production. The brief was to design and make period leather bags for a variety of characters in a film about Richard the first.
The design of the bags were developed using the description from the script as well as historical research sourced from paintings, books and physical items from the era.
There were three bag types that corresponded to groups of people or a specific character in the film. The bags varied in material choice and construction complexity to show the status of the peasants, knights and the king.
Bag 1 - Designed for the peasants or working people in England at the time of Richard 1.
Bag 2 - Designed to show the importance of the king's knights through more detailed design and higher quality materials. It was then 'stressed' by burning and scratching to add some wear and tear that the characters experienced in the film.
Bag 3 - This bag was designed for the King featuring Celtic influence gold inscribed design.
